Maldives is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean about 600km south-west of Sri Lanka. Maldives one of the smallest independant country in the World with a toptal population of little over 300,000 peopel. There are 1192 islands in total. Among whcih 202 are inhabited and the other islands are uninhabited.

Maldives is known for its colorful coral reefs and white sand beaches. It is also well recongnized for its tropical adventure sports, and exotic culture. Tourism is the main source of income for the local people followed by trational fishing industry. Maldivians are often credited with the stability in the country. Maldives attracts thousands of tourists every year making it one of the Worlds most popular tropical destination.
