When you installed WordPress for the very first time you may have noticed one of the default plug-ins known as Akismet. This plug-in is a handy tool that helps block spam from being posted as comments to your blog. In fact, it was one of the first such spam tools ever developed for WordPress. The only question is whether or not you should bother with it for your site.
