Google seems to have lost a little ground in the search market

Today I was reading the Search Engine market news and was surprised by the big news. Yes it is true, Google’s market share dropped from 57.7% in November to 56.3% last month. Microsoft moved from 12% to 13.3% over the same period.

Now the question is how MSN benfitted from google’s loss. Microsoft has been offering video games and other merchandise to get consumers to use its online products, so there is a good chance the the shift is temporary.

It is a bit like getting a new toaster to open a new bank account. Consumers keep their big account with their current financial institution and move $50 to get that toaster.

Google did not lost in search engine advertising… December was the busiest month for Yahoo because of Christmas and New Year. Yahoo provides a lot of information like news and online store where people was looking for gifts. Yahoo picked in traffic and more people searched something using their search box… now it is back to normal traffic and Google is getting back their 1%.
